AATG Test
This year again students of most of our schools will be participating in the AATG testing. These tests are provided by the American Association of Teachers of German(AATG), the official organization for German teachers in the USA. Every year our schools participate in their 3 levels of tests, 2nd - 4th year of high school German. These tests consist of multiple-choice questions concerning grammar and reading comprehension as well as a listening comprehension part. These tests allow the teachers and students to compare their results to those at the high schools. Congratulations to all the students.
The German Language Diploma - Deutsches Sprachdiplom (DSD)
In April 2011 students participated in the DSD testing. The
German Language Diploma (DSD) can be obtained by students as a certificate proving German language proficiency in three stages. Successful completion of the DSD I and DSD II (corresponding to the B1 and C1 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages respectively) prove the student's German language level that is required for college or, respectively, university entry in a German-speaking country. We had a total of 17 students taking the DSD I exam and 10 students taking the DSDII. results will not be known for some time but we hope, they all did very well.

The students received their diplomas at an event at the Goethe Institut.
Teachers seminar
The German American School will hold its annual teachers seminar at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim on September 10, 2011. Teachers from all of our schools will participate. The focus is to make learning German a great experience for the students.
